2019 governorship poll : Rivers APC chieftains endorse Magnus Abe

APC-LOgo-TVCPolitical activities are already beginning to build up in Rivers State ahead of the 2019 general election.
Chieftains of the All Progressives Congress, APC in the state have endorsed Senator Magnus Abe as their preferred candidate to fly the party flag in the forthcoming governorship election.

The leaders of the APC who endorsed Senator Abe were mostly those who held public offices during the administration of former Governor, Chibuike Amaechi.

Recalling the defeat of the APC during the 2015 poll, the party chieftains said only the lawmaker representing the south east senatorial district in the National Assembly can turn around the fortunes of the party come 2019.

While defending their choice of whom to support in two years time, the group noted that both the APC and Nigeria’s Constitution gives all members of the party equal right to vie for elective offices without fear or intimidation.

The spokesman of the APC in Rivers State, Chris Finebone, in his reaction, appealed to all party members to exercise patience saying the right governorship candidate can only emerge through the internal mechanism of the party as a whole.
