Nigeria’s anti-graft agency, EFCC has arrested Ekiti state Commissioner for Finance, Toyin Ojo and the Accountant-General, Mrs Omobola Owolabi.
Both officials were arrested in Abuja where they had gone to attend the statutory Federation Accounts Allocation Committee (FAAC) meeting on Thursday.
The EFCC Spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren in a statement says they were picked up following their refusal to honour previous invitations for interrogation in relation to pending investigation on the misuse of bail out funds.
Meanwhile, Governor Ayodele Fayose in his reaction said the arrest is in flagrant disobedience of the orders of Justice Taiwo. O. Taiwo of the Federal High Court, Ado-Ekiti.
The interim injunction order restrains the EFCC and the Inspector-General of Police from arresting, detaining or investigating any person or persons, whether past or present officials in the Ekiti State, without any report of indictment from the Ekiti State House of Assembly pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed in this suit.
