The People’s Democratic Party’s factional governorship candidate in Ondo State, Eyitayo Jegede now has the nod of the judiciary to appeal the substitution of his name with that of Jimoh Ibrahim.
A special panel of the Court of Appeal sitting has granted Jegede’s application to appeal a previous judgement which INEC used as the bases for substituting his name.
Justice Salauwa said Jegede’s application clearly established that he was affected by that judgement.
The Appeal Court panel also dismissed the application of sacked factional chairman, Biyi Poroye, challenging it’s jurisdiction and asking for its disbandment.
