Two Kidnap Victims were killed by their Captors in Zamfara and seventy four regained freedom after twenty two days in Captivity.

Those who regained freedom where released Friday night after payment of six million naira ransom in addition to the two Motorcycles earlier demanded by the bandits.

Twenty of the Victims are still in the hands of the terrorists despite meeting all requirements for their release.

One of the hostages had sometimes last week escaped from the bandits den.

The Victims are among the ninety six women abducted by armed bandits on April 7th while fetching firewood in Wanzamai Community in Tsafe local government area of the state.

The women were kidnapped by fleeing armed bandits after military bombardment on the terrorist camps in Northern Zamfara.

The bandits were said to be on their way to other camps in Birnin Gwari, Kaduna state through Munhaye forest in Zamfara

The terrorists had a few days after the abduction demanded replacement of their two motorcycles alledgedly destroyed by security operatives while on their trail to rescue the kidnap victims

A resident of the affected village told Newsmen that those abducted are ninety six not eighty five as earlier declared

This according to him was confirmed after several head count in the affected Communities.

He said the freed victims returned Thursday night and majority of them could not walk properly as a result of trekking for saveral hours and the stress they passed through while in bandits den

The seventy four kidnapped victims are currently undergoing medical checks in an undisclosed health facility.

Wanzamai is a Community along Yankara – Gusau road which has made news headlines for the wrong reasons

Police in the state had on April 8th issued a press statement insisting that those abducted during the incident are eight women

This is coming a few days after military Troops of operation Hadarin Daji again stormed bandit hideouts in Zamfara Forests and killed scores of terrorists

Attacks and kidnapping on Zamfara Communities is gradually resurfacing as the rainy season approaches

Insecurity in the North Western state is usually worst during rainy season as bandits places tax on Communities before they farm on their lands.
