Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani has revoked all land and house allocations within school premises made by the previous administration of Nasir El-Rufai.
The affected properties include those at Alhuda-huda College, Zaria; Queen Amina College, Kaduna; and Government Commercial College, Zaria.
The state government cited overriding public interest and the need to preserve a conducive learning environment as reasons for the revocation.
Secretary to the State Government Abdulkadir Muazu Meyere confirmed that the government is processing refunds for payments made on the revoked properties.
Governor Sani emphasized that schools must remain free from commercial or residential encroachments to ensure effective teaching and learning.
Since taking office, the Uba Sani administration has prioritized education, reducing tuition fees in state-owned tertiary institutions and constructing over 2,336 new classrooms. The government has also renovated 707 classrooms, provided thousands of furniture pieces for pupils and teachers, and improved water and sanitation facilities in schools.
