A non governmental organization hit the streets of Jos to create awareness among residents on the thyroid Disease as a way of enlightening people who might be living ignorantly with the Disease.

thyroid gland which is located at the front of the neck and produces hormones that travel through the blood to help regulate many other organs.
These hormones normally act in the body to regulate energy use, infant development, and childhood development.
May the 25th is recognized globally as the world Thyroid day, a day is set aside to create awareness to people living with the Disease who might be ignorant about it
In Plateau State, this group is going round the streets of Jos the state capital educating people on the disease.
Aisha Bashir is currently receiving treatment to cure herself from the Thyroid disease , she told us how friends and class mates stigmatized her before realizing she had the Disease.

It is estimated that over a million people around the world currently live with the Thyroid Disease but are ignorant about their Status.
