Sierra Leone’s newly elected President Julius Maada Bio has called on his rival in an election run-off to drop a legal challenge against the results, saying he could use his expertise and experience.
Bio will have to work fast to reverse years of economic decline and he has said he would seek to make Sierra Leone less reliant on its natural resources, investing instead in “human capital” – especially by introducing universal free primary education.
