The planned repair of the expansion joints on the Kara Bridge along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, which was scheduled to begin on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, has been postponed.

In a notice issued on Tuesday morning, the Acting Federal Controller of Works in Ogun State, Engr. Adeleye R. O., said the postponement was directed by higher authorities due to what he described as “very crucial reasons.”

The Federal Ministry of Works said a new date for the commencement of the repair works would be announced in due course.
