The Sultan of Sokoto Sa’ad Abubakar has announced Monday 6th of May 2019 as the first day of the Month of Ramadan which mark the beginning of the Ramadan fast.
The Sultan says the moon is sighted in many cities in Nigeria and verified by the moon sighting committee of the Sultanate council.

The Sultan while announcing the moon sighting in his palace instruct muslims across Nigeria to commence the Ramadan fast on Monday.
He urged Muslims to use the Holy month to pray for Nigeria and her leaders.
