President Muhammadu Buhari has commended Nigerian journalists for the effective coverage of the 2019 elections, especially those who ensured their reports were balanced.
The President said this when he received a delegation of the Nigerian Union of Journalists in Abuja on Thursday.

Addressing his audience, the president said Transparency and Inclusiveness will guide Implementation of Policies in the next four years. The President also commended the Union for the effective coverage of the 2019 election, and urged journalists to support the government in devising a means to control the spread of false information
The President of the Nigeria Union Of Journalists expressed concern about the growing number of media casualties in Nigeria, and across the continent, in The course of carrying out their duties.
He urged the Federal and State governments to take effective measures in protecting journalists.
They also told the president that it is very important that terrorism is completely stamped out, effectively tackled and not technically degraded.
