Acting President Yemi Osinbajo has charged the thirty six Governors of the federation to see it as a point of duty to protect their citizens and avoid making divisive statements.
Though the meeting held behind closed doors at the State House Banquet Hall, Osinbajo expressed disappointment over recent hate speeches credited to youths from Northern Nigeria and in the South East.
Osinbajo told the governors to curb insecurity in their domain and not allow issues to degenerate before they act.
The Acting President also charged the Governors to show greater unity of purpose and determination to work together for the good of their citizens, irrespective of party affiliations.
