The Italian fire brigade pulled a man from the rubble of a collapsed building in the early hours of Tuesday after an earthquake with a magnitude 4.0 hit the tourist-packed Island of Ischia.
Firemen applauded and cheered as they pulled the dust-covered man to safety in the town of Casamicciola, where at least six buildings are reported to have collapsed.
At least one person has died and some 25 injured following the earthquake.
