Troops of One Division Nigerian Army have arrested 47 suspects allegedly involved in rail track vandalism during a routine patrol along Kakau Daji- Anguwan Ayaba in Kaduna state.
Acting Deputy Director of Army Public Relations, Musa Yahaya, stated that the suspects, employed by a fugitive named Alhaji Babawo, had loaded two trucks with the vandalized tracks.
He explained that the suspects were profiled and interviewed, and efforts are ongoing to capture their leader.
Vandalised tracks were also found concealed nearby and the suspects have been handed over to the Nigeria Railway Corporation for further investigation.
ASP Inuwa Dahiru of the Nigeria Railway Corporation praised the army’s efforts, and Maj Gen Miyenreso Saraso commended the troops’ professionalism and urged continued resilience against criminal activities.
