Governor of Kogi State, Usman Ododo has approved the monthly allowance package of N300,000 special allowance for civil service medical doctors in the state.
He gave the approval during the launch of the Access to Care Programme for over 76,000 beneficiaries and the unveiling of healthcare facilities supported by the World Bank and other partners.
The issue of allowances in the health sector has been cited as one of the reasons the nation suffers from an ongoing brain drain.
It is expected that this new special monthly allowance will help in ensuring that more skilled hands are retained especially for a State like Kogi.
