The need for a strong political will, administrative support and strong partnership commitment in protecting Nigerians were issues addressed at a Media Capacity Building Workshop on Security, Justice and Development, in Umuahia.
This workshop which trained journalists on issues relating to security, justice sector reforms and human rights development,focused on the topic; Decriminalization and Declassification of Petty Offences.

During the workshop, journalists from different media houses in the state in the state and also representatives of he police gave their contributions towards achieving the desired result in the state criminal justice system.
Human rights activists emphasized that the media possesses the power to shape the actions of political leaders and the public and also destroy and incite the public towards and against the government.
