The Electoral Committee of the Nigerian Bar Association (ECNBA) has acknowledged that heavy traffic on the e-voting platform may result in delayed delivery of the One-Time Password (OTP) required for voters to participate in the ongoing 2026 NBA National Elections.
In an advisory released by the chairman of the ECNBA, Aham Ejelam, SAN, and the secretary, Ibrahim Nassarawa, they urged voters experiencing delays in receiving the OTP
To log out of the e-voting portal completely, wait for twenty minutes, then log in again and request a fresh OTP.
The Committee advised against repeatedly requesting OTPs, warning that multiple requests could further congest the system and prolong delays for all voters.

The Committee also encouraged voters to ensure they have adequate network coverage, check their SMS inbox as well as spam or blocked message folders, verify that their registered phone numbers are correct, ensure their phones are not in “Do Not Disturb” mode, and use the OTP immediately upon receipt, as it expires after a short period.

Reassuring members of the integrity of the electoral process, the ECNBA stated that the e-voting system is currently processing high traffic and emphasized that every validly cast vote will count.
Voters were also advised to check their email after successfully voting to obtain their voting reference number.
It added that a dedicated Voter Support Desk has been activated to assist eligible voters experiencing genuine difficulties in the exercise of their franchise.
