The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has released the official cost of the 2026 Hajj pilgrimage, with fares ranging from ₦8.1 million to ₦8.5 million, depending on the pilgrim’s location.

The announcement was made by NAHCON Chairman and CEO, Professor Abdullahi Saleh Usman, following the signing of key service agreements with Saudi-based partners for the upcoming pilgrimage.

According to a statement issued by the commission’s media department, the new fare structure was approved after consultations with stakeholders, including the Forum of States’ Pilgrims Boards and the Federal Government.

A statement by the media department said: “After due consultations with all the relevant stakeholders, including the Forum of States leadership and obtaining the approval of the Federal Government, The Chairman/CEO of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria, Profel Abdullahi Sale Usman hereby announces the 2026 Hajj Fare as follow: Maiduguri-Yola Zone (Yobe, Borno, Adamawa and Taraba) will pay -N8,118,333.67. Other Northern States will pay N8,244,813.67 while the Southern States will pay N8,561,013.67. Compared to what was charged last year, this year, each pilgrim is to pay average of N200,000 less.”

The announcement comes as a NAHCON delegation, led by Prof. Usman, concluded a round of negotiations in Saudi Arabia. The team signed agreements with Mashareeq Al-Zahabiyya, the 2026 Hajj service provider, and Daleel Al-Ma’aleem, the official transportation company.

Prof. Usman urged all prospective pilgrims to ensure full payment of the hajj fare no later than December 31, 2025, to guarantee inclusion in next year’s pilgrimage.

He emphasized NAHCON’s commitment to improving services and ensuring that Nigerian pilgrims receive quality care throughout the Hajj process.
