The Kaduna State Government has ordered a comprehensive multi-agency investigation into the Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) bus explosion that occurred at Mando Motor Park in the early hours of 5 April 2026.

In an official update issued by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Malam Ahmed Maiyaki, preliminary findings indicate that the incident involved a CNG-powered bus operated by Silver Luxury Travel.

The government clarified that a minor explosion occurred due to a technical fault linked to overfilling.

According to the statement, there was no bomb explosion, and no casualties or property damage were recorded.

Authorities confirmed that the situation was swiftly contained, with normal activities now fully restored at the motor park.

Governor Uba Sani has directed a sweeping probe involving security agencies, technical regulators and safety authorities to determine both the immediate and underlying causes of the incident.

The move, the government said, is aimed at ensuring accountability and strengthening safety standards for CNG operations across the State.

The governor also commended the Kaduna State Police Command, particularly its Bomb Disposal Unit, for its prompt and professional response in securing the area and safeguarding the public.

Reassuring residents, Maiyaki stressed that the incident was purely technical and posed no security threat.

He urged citizens to remain calm, rely on verified information, and continue with their lawful activities.

The State government reaffirmed its commitment to the protection of lives and property, pledging to keep the public informed as investigations progress.
