The wife of the Jigawa State governor, Amina Umar Namadi, has teamed up with the State Empowerment and Employment Agency to support women entrepreneurs with training on how to obtain NAFDAC certification.

The one-day workshop brought together dozens of women running small and medium-sized businesses.

Participants were taken through the steps of product registration, proper labeling, and regulatory compliance.

Mrs Namadi said the initiative is designed to help women expand their businesses, boost household incomes, and improve the safety of locally made goods.

Observers believe supporting women-led enterprises could strengthen Jigawa’s economy and contribute to wider national growth.

With women making up a large share of Nigeria’s small business owners, the first lady believe that efforts like this could strengthen families, improve household incomes, and boost the national economy.
