The Registrar of the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board Professor Ishaq Oloyede, has expressed concern over the high number of students being illegally admitted into higher institutions asking the management of tertiary institutions to follow the proper admission process.

Professor Oloyede made this known during a visit to JAMB’s zonal headquarters in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital.

The JAMB Registrar’s assessment visit to the Ibadan zonal headquarters was prompted by concerns about students frequently visiting the premises with various issues to be addressed.
During his interaction with the students, he discovered that most of their issues stemmed from errors by their schools, such as illegal admissions, which led the students to seek regularization when the issue arose.

He advised schools to consider the consequences before offering illegal admissions to students and urged parents not to condone or support such actions.

For this affected student, she hopes her issue can be rectified to allow her proceed for her Higher National Diploma.

By addressing these issues, the Registrar believes it will  ensure a transparent and fair admission process, protecting the interests of students and maintaining the integrity of the education system.
