In a remarkable show of enthusiasm and support, residents of Imo State trooped out in large numbers, braving the early morning rain to welcome President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who will be in Owerri for a state one-day official visit.
The major streets of Owerri, the state capital, were adorned with decorations, while security agencies were strategically positioned to ensure a smooth and hitch-free presidential visit.
During this historic visit, President Tinubu is expected to inaugurate a number of transformative infrastructure projects executed by Governor Hope Uzodinma’s administration.
These projects are aimed at improving connectivity, stimulating economic activities, and enhancing the overall development of the state.
Among the key projects scheduled to be inaugurated include the Owerri–Mbaise–Obowo–Umuahia Road, A newly completed flyover at the Assumpta Cathedral Roundabout, facilitating smoother traffic flow between Port Harcourt and Onitsha roads, The Ultra-Modern Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu International Conference Centre, designed to serve as a hub for international and local events.
In addition, President Tinubu will serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the launch of a new book authored by Governor Uzodinma, titled “A Decade of Impactful Progressive Governance in Nigeria.”
This visit underscores the strong collaboration between the Federal Government and Imo State in advancing infrastructure, governance, and socio-economic development across the South-East region.
