The Nigeria police say adequate measures are in place to deal decisively with anyone planning to carry out two weeks sit-at-home order by Simon Ekpa faction of the outlawed Indigenous people of Biafra.

Speaking at the Imo police Command headquarters in Owerri, the Assistant Inspector general of Police Zone 9 Echeng Echeng urged Citizens to ignore the order and go about their lawful businesses.

Following the rising insecurity in the South East region, a faction of the proscribed Indigenous people of Biafra IPOB led by Simon Ekpa gave a two week sit-at-home order starting from the 31st of July through 14th of August.

The police and other security forces say they are combat ready to deal with renegades who would want to enforce the order.

The Imo State Government say they will take drastic step against any business owner who refused to open their businesses during the period.

As the Nigerian police force continues to allay the fears of the citizens of the South East, the people want more commitment by the security operatives to stem the activities of non-State actors in the region.
