FG moves to complete multi-billion dollar Brass LNG project

After over 17 years of its abandonment, the federal government says it is going to complete the multi-billion-dollar brass liquefied natural gas project in Bayelsa state.

Minister of state for petroleum resources, Timipre sylva, who made this known during an inspection of the project site in brass twon bayelsa state, stated that the government is looking for investors to revive the stalled gas project.

According to the minister, the brass LNG project, which has trained 1-4 concept, with an annual projected capacity of 8.4 million metric tones when completed will bring manifold economic benefits to the country’s oil and gas industry.

He however noted that the federal government will give the project top priority because of its present policy thrust in gas exploration across the country.

Recall that the gas project was initiated in 2005 with the groundbreaking ceremony performed by former president Olusegun Obasanjo on May 14, 2007.

Meanwhile, in a bid to ensure closer collaboration between the private sector and the State Government in building a stronger business environment, the Nasarawa State Government is set to host the state’s inaugural business summit in May.

The investment summit which is themed “Diamond In the Rough” is set to bring together world-class business leaders and captains of industries to rub minds how to explore the vast opportunities of the state.

It will interest you to know that since the commencement of the administration of Governor Abdullahi Sule has grown the state internally generated revenue (IGR) has experience exponential growth, attracting $500m in investments into key sectors within the last three years due to the improvement in the state ease of doing business and investment promotion efforts.
