Forbes Billionaire Elon Musk has stated that his AI company xAI is building “Grokipedia” after he and his allies accused Wikipedia of bias.
“We are building Grokipedia @xAI,” Musk wrote on his social platform X. “It will be a massive improvement over Wikipedia. Frankly, it is a necessary step towards the xAI goal of understanding the Universe.”
The Tesla and SpaceX CEO expressed his vision for the online encyclopedia, stating it would be an “open source knowledge repository” offered to the public, with no limits on use.” The new service is evidently named after his company’s AI chatbot, Grok.
Musk criticised Wikipedia as “Wokipedia” following similar accusations from his allies. White House AI and crypto czar David Sacks slammed the site as “hopelessly biased.”
Also, according to Cointelegraph, Elon Musk, the owner of X, has announced that his artificial intelligence company, xAI, is set to launch the early beta version of its Wikipedia competitor, Grokipedia, in two weeks. Musk described the upcoming service as a solution to “falsehoods” and “half-truths.” In a post on X, Musk stated that “version 0.1 early beta” will be available soon, marking a significant step in xAI’s mission to enhance knowledge accuracy.
Musk initially revealed plans for Grokipedia on September 30, emphasising that it would be a substantial improvement over Wikipedia. He noted that Grokipedia is a necessary step toward xAI’s goal of understanding the universe. While specific details about Grokipedia remain limited, Musk has previously mentioned that it will serve as an “open source knowledge repository.”
