Easter: Lockdown continues in Ogun, Lagos, FCT – IGP

The Inspector General of Police, Mohammed Adamu, has directed the Commissioners of Police in the States where the social restriction orders have been imposed to continue with the enforcement of the order.

Felicitating with the Nigerian Christian Community, on the commemoration of Easter, the IGP called on religious leaders in Lagos, Ogun and the Federal Capital Territory as well as other affected states, to continue to cooperate

with relevant government agencies and use their leadership positions to encourage worshippers to observe Prayers and Worship Programs in the confines of their homes.

Expressing concern that the restrictions have affected the annual celebration, the Inspector General enjoined christians to bear in mind that the COVID-19 pandemic must be contained.

The IGP reassured the citizenry that the Nigeria Police will ensure public safety during the Easter period .
