rs in the country have reassured Nigerians of improved supply across the country in 2017.
The Chief executive officer of the Eko Electricity Distribution Company made this assertion against the backdrop of on going efforts by the federal government to solve all challenges facing the sector.
He made the declaration at a town hall meeting organised by Eko distribution company and the objective was to listen to concerns raised by electricity customers with regards to power supply.
Top on the list of issues include the lack of prepaid meters, estimated billings, and dilapidated infrastructure.
The consumers identify a series of challenges they face, but the service provider wasE quick to explain that distribution companies across the country are also grappling with inadequate supply of gas to power generating plants. Another challenge is a lack of funds for some enforcement processes.
Those at the event believe there may be light at the end of the tunnel, if government makes good its pledge to increase funding for the power sector, and moves to end militancy and pipeline destruction in the Niger Delta.
