The Ministers of Finance and Labour say the reconciliation meeting between the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association and the Dangote Refinery over outstanding Labour issues will reconvene at 2:00pm, on Tuesday, September . 2025.

The meeting, which started at about 4:00pm on Monday, lasted for about nine hours into the early hours of Tuesday but rose without reaching a resolution on the issues at hand.

The Dangote Refinery and PENGASSAN had been at loggerheads over unionisation of workers at the Refinery which was followed by a mass sack of over 800 Engineers.

PENGASSAN had in respponse to the move embarked on an industrial action to enforce the rights of Engineers sacked by the management of Dangote Refinery.

The management of Dangote Refinery had described the mass sack as a restructuring exercise.

Sources at the meeting had pointed accusing fingers at one of the party as being responsible for the failure to reach a resolution having allegedly refused to sign the memorandum of understanding reached by all parties.

The drum beats of war between all parties had reached its crescendo with the Nigerian Labour Congress also joining the fray by mobilising its affiliates for a total strike against the Dangote Refinery’s action.

Nigerians now wait with bated breath to see the outcome of the meeting amid fears that it may end up affecting all sectors and paralysing the Economy.
