The Nigeria Customs Service said it has made 35 seizures of various contraband items and impounded 19 vehicles within the last two months in the Kano and Jigawa axis.
Comptroller of Federal Operations Unit, Zone B, Mustapha Maishanu, disclosed this shortly after inspecting the items in Kano.
Maishanu said the seized items include 1, 265 bags of foreign rice, 55 bails of second hand clothes, 354 cartons of spaghetti and 410 bags of sugar.

He also revealed the seized items have a total duty paid value of N76.4 million.
Four suspects arrested in connection with the seizures have been given administrative bail.
