The Chief of Army Staff , Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai alongside other top army officers, visited Sokoto on Sunday.
Although the purpose of the visit was not specified, the Army Chief was seen inspecting military facilities as well as healthcare facilities within the Giginya Army Barracks.
General Buratai also inspected some projects located within and outside the Army Barracks, carried out by Brigadier General Aminu Bande, the General Officer Commanding 8th Division of the Nigeria Army, Sokoto.

He then visited the government house where he met with Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal behind closed door.
Sokoto State is one of the States in the northwest region, facing the crisis of banditry. But military intervention has helped in dousing the tension in some parts of the State.
