Army commences operation ”Crocodile Smile 4” in Niger Delta

Image result for Army commences operation ''Crocodile Smile 4'' in Niger DeltaThe Nigerian Army has commenced Operation Crocodile Smile 4, which is targeted at improving security in the Niger Delta.The Army’s 6-Division flagged off the exercise with a medical outreach to some communities in Rivers State.

Correspondent Uche Okoro reports that Crocodile Smile is codename for army’s special operation in Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa-Ibom States.

Its objective is to sharpen the operational readiness of troops in equipment handling, inter-agency cooperation, Army code of conduct and rules of engagement.

Image result for Army commences operation ''Crocodile Smile 4'' in Niger DeltaBut on a larger scale, the operation is aimed at tackling insecurity in the Niger Delta in form of militancy, kidnapping, sea piracy and illegal oil bunkering amongst others.

Through free medical outreaches like this one in Rumuokoro community, the army hopes to build a more cordial relationship with the civilian population during crocodile smile 4.

6-Division reassured residents of the Army’s best intentions in the conduct of operation crocodile smile.

Beneficiaries of the free medical outreach received free eye, dental, tuberculosis and blood pressure diagnosis and treatment.

The Army also organized a similar medical outreach in Ogu/Bolo Local Government Area of Rivers State.
