The Akwa Ibom State Commissioner for Information, Aniekan Umanah, has reaffirmed the unwavering commitment of Governor Umo Eno’s administration to the full delivery of the ARISE Agenda through people-centered programmes and deliberate policies.

Speaking during the Ministry’s periodic press briefing held, Tuesday at the Ministry’s Conference Room, the Commissioner highlighted Governor Eno’s key engagements in September 2025, which underscored the administration’s developmental drive.

These include the reception of Ibom Air cadet pilots and engineers trained abroad, inspection of the ongoing renovation of Ibom Hotel and Golf Resort, signing of an MoU with the Rural Electrification Agency, hosting of the Deputy British High Commissioner, the revival of the Ibom Sports Festival after 14 years, and the ARISE City Walk with 10,000 youths and entertainers.

In a deliberate push to grow the creative economy, the Commissioner hinted that the Governor during the period under review hosted the Directors Guild of Nigeria, where he unveiled a ₦100 million Creative Industry Fund to support capacity building and expand opportunities in film, entertainment, and allied sectors.

The Governor also launched the State Security Trust Fund, inaugurated the 4th batch of the Ibom-LED Entrepreneur Accelerator Programme, convened the maiden Electricity Summit, supervised the distribution of the third phase of ARISE food packages across all 31 LGAs, commissioned 17.33km of roads in partnership with the FCT Minister, and presented official vehicles to all former Deputy Governors.

The Commissioner noted that these initiatives, alongside investments in tourism, aviation, roads and bridges, agriculture, healthcare, power, education, youth empowerment, housing, and social welfare, are not isolated interventions but part of the methodical execution of the ARISE Agenda.

Umanah disclosed that so far, over 771km of roads and 31 bridges are at various stages of completion, while four new aircraft have been acquired for Ibom Air, over 10,000 youths and SMEs benefitting from empowerment programmes.

He announced that a total of 267 compassionate homes have been delivered, and more than ₦78 billion paid in pensions and gratuities, among other strides.

“These achievements are the visible outcomes of deliberate governance. They reflect His Excellency’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development and impactful leadership,” Umanah said.

The Commissioner assured that Governor Umo Eno remains resolute in consolidating gains across sectors to position Akwa Ibom as a hub of innovation, creativity, and sustainable growth.
