The Kuje Custodial Centre in the Federal Capital Territory has recorded significant educational achievements, producing seven inmate graduates in 2025 as part of its rehabilitation and reintegration programme.

According to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, the centre has so far produced one PhD holder and six Master’s degree holders, while five other inmates are expected to complete their degree programmes before the end of the year.

In addition, the facility has produced 45 undergraduate graduates, with 95 inmates currently enrolled for the National Business and Technical Examinations Board (NABTEB) and another 95 sitting for the National Examinations Council (NECO) exams.

The initiative reflects the Nigerian Correctional Service’s commitment to rehabilitation through education, creating opportunities for inmates to reform and reintegrate productively into society.
