Governor Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa state says he will ensure that all financial leakages in the state are blocked.
The governor spoke during the inauguration of the state transparency committee aimed at strengthening accountability and transparency.
The new members of Adamawa state transparency committee have now been inaugurated and are saddled with the responsibility of assisting government in increasing efficiency and improve responsiveness to citizens needs.
Their areas of coverage include education, primary health care and water sanitation and hygiene.
Speaking at the inuaguration, the secretary to the state government Auwal tukur commended United States agency for international development, USAID for identifying Adamawa as one of the benefitting states for the programme.
Auwal tukur asks members of the committee to bring to bear their wealth of experience in championing the course of the programme.
Co-chairman of the committee and the commissioner of finance Augustina wandamiya promises to work for the realization of the programme’s mandate
The state transparency committee comprises of representatives of government agencies, civil society organisations and private sector associations.
