Zamfara state stood still as Former Governor Bello Matawalle arrives hometown, Maradun Local Government area over the weekend.
Dr. Matawalle who doubles as the Minister of State for Defence was received by mammoth crowd of supporters, party faithful, family, friends and relations who joyfully welcomes him back home.
The people where singing and chanting “Sai Baba” Welcome home, We Love you among other praises.
His Maradun residence was thronged by well wishers and political associates, who came to rejoice with him.
Dr. Bello Matawalle who is a grassroot politician is loved by his people and also do his best at all times to keep the relationship with his people at all levels.
This is the first time the former Governor, now Minister of state for Defence is visiting the state since after he hands over power to his successor, Dauda Lawal in may this year.
Mr. Matawalle was appointed minister of state for Defence by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in August this year.
His appointment follows his immense contributions during the February and March elections that led to the victory of the APC at the centre.
The home visits of the former Zamfara Governor, Bello Matawalle is coming two days after an appeal court in Abuja declared the Zamfara Governorship election held in March this Inconclusive and ordered a rerun in local Government Councils.
The affected local government areas are Birnin Magazine in Zamfara North, Bukkuyyum and Maradun in Zamfara west senatorial zone respectively.
Maradun is the hometown of the Minister of state for Defence Bello Matawalle who is the APC Candidate to contest the rerun election against the incumbent Governor, Dauda Lawal of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
Also, the former Zamfara Governor has been receiving his political associates, party faithful, supporters and well wishers among others at his Maradun residence.
The minister of state for Defence was earlier received by the General Officer Commanding 8 Division Nigerian Army Sokoto alongside other senior military officers at the airport in Sokoto state where his flight landed before he proceeded to Maradun local Government in Zamfara.
