Oyo Police arrest suspected killer, Others for arms possession

POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED KILLER, OTHERS IN OYO

The Oyo state police command has arrested a suspected robbery syndicate for breaking into a house, robbing and allegedly killing his victim.

The suspect was paraded alongside some other syndicates who were arrested for cultism, rape and unlawful possession of weapons at the police headquarters in Eleyele in Ibadan.

In its continuous efforts to neutralise criminal elements in the state, the Oyo police command has has arrested these suspected criminals for engaging in various criminal activities in the state.

Among those paraded were these young person who belong to a cult group and allegedly attempting to murder their victim, a student of the polytechnic Ibadan.

In a related development, this 46 year old suspect was arrested for allegedly breaking into a house around Alakia area of Ibadan, robbing a family of their belongings and eventually killing the bread winner of the family.

But the suspects confessed he was sent to kill his victim after being promised a sum of 4.5million naira.

Items recovered from the suspects include AK47 riffles, locally made pistols, live carriages, phones, and other valuables.

Ahead of the forthcoming general election, the police advised parents and guardians against allowing their children and wards to be used by politicians for their political interests.

For these young entrepreneurs, this volunteering work is quite exciting and it is worth the time.

This exercise is simultaneously going on in Warri, Sapele, Ughelli, Oleh, Abraka and Agbor to ensure a clean environment especially in markets.

He believes the foundation of any industrialised nation is usually firmly rooted in its minerals and metal sector.

Other contributors underscore the dire need for the country to tap into the economic gains abounding in the sector, particularly in bridging the unemployment gap

Linus Asuquo worries about the low participation of the Organised Private sector despite the abundance of solid minerals in Nigeria.

In 2015, the contribution of the sector to the gross domestic product was N1.03 billion.

Seven years after in 2022, it recorded a slight increase to N1.07 billion at a time South Africa had a GDP in the mining sector of N5.5 trillion.

Of more concern is the stagnant state of Ajaokuta Steel Company, conceived to revolutionise the nation’s economy.
