INEC’s National Commissioner/Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Dr. Festus Okoye says the percentage of PVCs that have been collected by Nigerians cannot be ascertained.
He stated that the percentage is difficult to ascertain because there are three sets of cards issued to individuals.
The first set of cards relates to those who have bee registered prior to the 2019 general election and who have not collected their card, these are the backlog of cards that are in store which will be made available for collection.
The second relates to those who carrie out transfer and those whose cars were lost or had one challenge or the other while the third relates to the cards of those who registered between the 28th day of June 2021 and 31st day of July 2022.

Mr Okoye who stated that he visited Anambra lately added that the turn out so far was very impressive and electoral staff rather than leave at 3pm stay till 5pm.
He went on to say , there are challenges in some of the areas but noted that cards are made available for collection in 8809 registration areas or worse and the resident electoral Commissioners have also been asked and given the mandate to use their own initiative to be very creative in terms of making these cards available.
He added that in some places the various communities are providing security and they are also providing some level of assistance to electoral officers who are giving out these cards.
He said patience is required and understanding is required while assuring that every validly registered person who wants to collect his or her PVC will have an opportunity of doing so.
