The Oyo state Commissioner of Police, Adebowale Williams alongside his Ogun state counterpart, Lanre Bankole has visited the Lagos/Sagamu/Sapade/Onigari axis of the expressway.

The visit was to assess as well as beef up security apparatus within the environ following the recent attacks and kidnaps of travellers along the highway by criminal elements.

The Oyo state police command made this disclosure in a press statement made available by the state Police Public Relation Office SP Adewale Osifeso.

The statement also reaffirmed the Commissioner of Police’s commitment to leave no stone unturned in providing adequate security for lives and property of all residents in the state regardless of their location within the state.

According to the statement “The Oyo State Police Command under the able leadership of CP Adebowale Williams psc(+) fdc, has re-affirmed its commitment to leave no stone unturned in ridding the State and its surrounding environs off undesirable criminal elements.

“Today, Thursday 10/11/2022 in the company of his Ogun State Counterpart, CP Lanre Bankole and in a bid to proactively forestall future criminal occurrence along the highway, both Commissioners embarked on a strategic assessment patrol and eventual deployment of assets around areas concerned.

The Police also assured residents of the state that the Security Architecture of both Commands have been remodeled in a bid to deal decisively with criminal elements whose mindset is to use both States as a criminal hideout after being dislodged.

The command also advised citizens of Oyo State not to panic or agitate as adequate tactical and operation assets would be redeployed with joint intelligence -led surveillance, aggressive patrols with adjourning states, combing of forests alongside local hunters and vigilantes.

He said permanent visibility policing measures will also be intensified along the busy highways.
