The Academic staff Union of universities says it is ready to call off its seven-month-old strike only if a concrete agreement is reached with the federal government.
ASUU made its position known at a National Town Hall Meeting on Tertiary Education.
President of ASUU Emmanuel Osodeke warned that forcing the union to return to school through a court order will do the students more harm than good.
Meanwhile, the national association of Nigerian students have continued its protest across major highways in the Southwestern part of the country.
The student body says it will not stop until the federal government resolved its differences with the striking university lecturers.
