The Nigeria Police Force has banned all Security outfits established by various state governments and local communities from participating in electioneering campaign and other electoral processes.

The directives according to the Zamfara police authorities is from the office of the Inspector General of Police Usman Alkali Baba

The police said the security outfits has no legal roles under the Electoral Act to participate in any electoral activities

On the social media policy of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, officers and Men of the force are advised to ensure absolute compliance of the directives

The Zamfara State Commissioner of Police Kolo Yusuf announced this while addressing officers and Men of the command in Gusau.

He says the move is to ensure a hitch free electioneering Campaigns and ensure a peaceful Zamfara

The police commissioner however appeal to his men to remain apolitical , display professionalism and commitment to duty and warned against collaborating with Bandits or any criminal syndicate to perpetrate evil

Defaulters according to the police will be made to face the full wrath of the law

Other matters relating to the overall security and safety of Zamfara state were extensively discussed, officers and men of the command reiterates their loyalty and resolve to work assiduously to ensure peace and security before, during and after the 2023 General Election.
