The World Bank assisted by European Union in conjunction with Delta state government is ready to roll out a new project it has termed the COVID-19 Action Recovery and Stimulus programme set to take off in January next year.
The initiative is coming at the end of the State Employment and Expenditure For Results programme sponsored by the World Bank and the European Union.
A close out meeting as the SEEFOR initiative in Delta state comes to an end after seven years. The government says it is looking to keep the model of the programme in the state and initiative its own programmes to keep its citizens positively engaged.
On a tour of impacted communities, beneficiaries are generous with their testimonies of how helpful the project has been. The projects are targeted mostly at rural communities in agriculture, health, education and infrastructure.
The Delta state government says the end of the SEEFOR project will lead to the beginning of better things.
The CARES program will help to continue the legacy of executing meaningful interventions for communities. It aims to continue the model adopted by the SEEFOR to achieve even more.
