Several killed as Troops of ‘Operation Lafiya Dole’ defeat insurgents in Damboa, Borno state

The troops of 25 task force brigade super camp 2 in conjunction with the Air Task Force Operation LAFIYA DOLE, hunters, and the CJTF have killed several Boko Haram insurgents in Damboa, Southern Borno state.

According to the Nigerian army media coordinator, colonel aminu iliyasu, “19 boko haram fighters were killed and 3 soldiers paid the supreme price when an attempt by Boko Haram elements to attack Damboa community in southern Borno state

“The marauding fighters mounted on Gun Trucks and with a number of their foot soldiers attempted to infiltrate Damboa community from three different fronts in the early hours of Wednesday .

“The encounter which lasted over an hour witnessed one of the most debilitating defeats of the Boko Haram fighters in a single encounter since the turn of the year.

“The gallant troops captured from the Boko Haram fighters 5 AK 47 Rifles, one General Purpose Machine Gun and one Rocket Propelled Gun tube.

“4 soldiers injured from the attack are presently recieving treatment in a military health facility.

“To this end, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Tukur Yusufu Buratai hereby congratulates the troops of Operation LAFIYA DOLE for their decisive victory against the enemies of our country”.
