The International Olympic Committee has said it would accept any sanctions imposed on Russia by the World Anti-Doping Agency following the latest doping scandal involving the country.
An Anti-Doping compliance committee recommended that Russia should get a four-year ban from the Olympics, as part of sanctions for having providing the agency with manipulated and incomplete laboratory data.
WADA’s executive committee will meet in Lausanne on Dec. 9 to consider the recommendations, which the head of Russia’s Olympic Committee described last week as “excessive, inappropriate and wrong.”
