Nigeria’s men’s senior basketball team, D’tigers have finally traveled to China for the FIBA Basketball World cup.
The team was scheduled to leave Nigeria for China on Monday to conclude preparations for the World cup, but their departure was delayed due to financial constraints.
Reports say President of the Nigeria Basketball Federation, Musa Kida had to source funds for D’tigers trip through loans.
The federation is hoping the federal government will release necessary funds required for the team’s world cup participation before the tournament dunks off next Saturday, August 31st.
Nigeria is grouped alongside Russia, Argentina and Korea.
