The panel set up by the Defence Headquarters to investigate the killing of four policemen by soldiers in Taraba state is in the state at the moment.
The calmness in Ibi town can still be likened to that of a grave yard; as residents await the consequence of the sad story that has kept their community in the news since the sixth of August.
The Rear Admiral Ibikunle Olaiya-led panel arrived in Taraba state on Wednesday and held a closed-door meeting with Governor Dairus Ishaku.
The mission is to investigate the killing but the real task will be to corroborate or fault earlier reports from different sources accusing a yet to be named soldier of complicity.
The killing sparked national outrage when the army announced that it mistook the police officers for actual kidnappers and the said Alhaji Hamisu Wadume for a victim but failed to produce him after the claimed rescue.
