Katsina state governor, Aminu Bello Masari has held an emergency security meeting with heads of security agencies and traditional institutions in the state.
The meeting is a follow up to a recent crack down on bandits and kidnappers operating in Katsina and Zamfara states.
Correspondent Abdullatif Yusuf reports that the regular security meeting by the state government and security agencies is part of vigorous efforts to curb the scourge of insecurity.
In the past many people had accused the authorities of not living to their responsibilities but the issues of security appear to go beyond
what people think.
The Emir of Katsina, Alhaji Abdulmummini kabir believes the failure to hold on societal values, is primarily responsible for its upsurge in criminal activities. The meeting which lasted for hours behind closed doors came up with the following recommendations.
It is estimated that over twenty five thousand people have been displaced from their homes due to frequent attacks by criminal gangs.
