Three-time lawmaker, Tonye Isenah has been elected Speaker of the Sixth Bayelsa State Assembly . He was elected after his nomination was unanimously accepted by members of the newly inaugurated assembly.
Ovieteme George reports that a motion to nominate Tonye Isenah as speaker of the sixth Bayelsa Assembly was moved by the Yenagoa Constituency Two representative Ebiuwou koku-Obiyai and seconded by Mitema Obordor representing Ogbia Constituency One.
The three time lawmaker representing Kolokuma/Opokuma Constituency One emerged Speaker with Brass Constituency Three representative Abraham Ingobere retaining his seat as Deputy Speaker.
Both lawmakers were sworn in first before the others took their turns in the hallowed chamber.
The oath-of-office is a constant reminder to the newly inaugurated legislators’ of a commitment their constituent.
