Agriculture contributes 40% to GDP in 2018

Image result for AgricultureThe Director National Cereals Research Institute, Aliyu Umar, has said that Agricultural sector contributed 40 per cent to the Gross Domestic Product last year.

This was disclosed by at a research review meeting in Niger State.

Umar said agricultural sector has contributed greatly to the economy growth and has employed about 60 per cent of Nigeria’s population.

He stressed that diversification through agriculture should be taken seriously and government at all levels should do more to improve the sector.
