Reports say Nigeria spends $60 million on importation of fish annually.
This was disclosed by the Minister of Agriculture, Audu Ogbeh in a meeting with delegation of private investors from The Netherlands.
The minister asked the delegation led by the Ambassador of The Netherlands to Nigeria, Marion Kappeyne, to assist the country in cattle breeding.
Kappeyne stressed his country’s willingness to support Nigeria on agriculture revolution to change it’s fortunes from importing to exporting food.
She said that areas of collaboration would include improved seeds, horticulture, aquaculture, poultry and nutrition, among others.
Mr.Ogbeh told the delegation that Nigeria would continue to partner with The Netherlands government to develop the agriculture sector.
