Five persons have been arrested in connection with the shooting of Reverend Father Daniel Nwankwo, at St Thomas Catholic Church, Onilekere, Ikeja, Lagos.
Lagos State Police Command Spokesperson, ASP Olarinde Famous-Cole disclosed that the State Commissioner of Police, Imohimi Edgal, had visited the scene and also spoken with witnesses.
Father Nwankwo, who is currently receiving treatment at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH,was attacked by the gunmen after the 6:30am mass.
Reports say the Priest had just finished attending to a church member when he was attacked and the gunmen scaled the fence after shooting him.

This is happening one week after a Catholic priest, Cyriacus Onunkwo, was abducted and killed in Imo state.
