The Nasarawa State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party, has zoned the the party’s Gubernatorial ticket to Nasarawa North.
The decision was upheld during the party’s stakeholders meeting in Lafia the state capital. The meeting was the first after the supreme court upheld the Ahmed Makarfi led National Caretaker Committee.
The meeting was aimed at reinvigorating the party and also for party leaders to meet and chart a course forward ahead of the gubernatorial election billed to hold in 2019.
After the zoning announcement was made, some supporters protested the zoning to Nasarawa North, which has never held the mantle of leadership in the state.
The party leaders were quick to calm the situation, they say it was a unanimous decision among party faithful in the state.
They reiterate their commitment to giving the present APC leadership in the state a keen contest come 2019.
